Fall Drive October 08 : Kari and I took a drive along the rogue river to see the beautiful fall colors. We had quite the adventure. We wanted to hike down the cliff to take pictures at Almeda. As we started down, I accidentally dropped the camera. It bounced on the rocks about 40 feet down the cliff side. But to our amazement, the camera still worked! The pictures were even better than before the drop.

Karyn and Alyssa's Camping Trip August 2007 : Karyn and Alyssa floated down the Rogue and camped at Carpenters Island. They had a great adventure. A bear greeted them at bed time and chased them away. They had to float through Ennis Riffle in the pitch black of the night.

Rogue River Trail Hike : We hiked on the Rogue River Trail to Rainy Falls (April 2004). This is the opposite side of the river from the normal Rainy Falls hike. It was a beautiful 5 mile hike. The weather was in the low 80's, there was an explosion of wild flowers everywhere and many waterfalls. We had a picnic on the river near Rainy Falls.

The 2005 Flood : The last week of December, the Rogue River decided to flood. The river rose 24 feet, four feet above flood level. The house had four feet of water in it. The barn had 8 inches of water. Fort Vannoy school flooded. We spent the days keeping the animals safe and clearing out kari's classroom. Campgrounds along the Rogue were flooded or completely under water. The river was an amazing site.

Tim's Training Trip : On 23June06, Kari took me on my last training trip. I was to row alone (following Kari of course) from Almeda to Graves Creek. There I went face to face with the guide eater rapid called 'Argo'. I did survive and passed my traing test. I am now an official guide for O'Brien's Rogue River Outfitters thanks to coach Kari O'Brien!
